They sampled the legendary Steinway D acoustic piano using 4 separate microphone positions: close (stereo and mono), middle, far and ambience (room). There are up to 12 velocity layers allowing for realistic results / estimates. In addition, nearly 28 GB of uncompressed sample content was compressed to 6.3 GB.
